The North Sea region is a crucial area for the Blue Economy with marine resources, technologically advanced industries, important port areas and increased offshore activities. As a result of global developments, maritime industries in this region are undergoing major changes, including increased production as well as stagnation and decline in production. The North Sea region is characterised by fragmented, diversified and specialised expertise and capabilities and encouraging international partnerships should unlock this potential.
PERISCOPE aims to start up a permanent innovative ecosystem in the North Sea region in order to stimulate transnational collaborations for sustainable business development. The project therefore focuses on a wide range of parties, such as clusters/networks, companies, entrepreneurs, researchers, universities, incubators, investors, funds, customers/users, regional and local authorities and development organization. PERISCOPE stimulates a discovery process among these stakeholders.
